Dallas Karate is a sanctioned dojo of the Ryukoku Seidokan Karate Kobudo Renmei (RSKKR) in Okinawa, Japan, founded to preserve and propagate the art of Sensei Shian Toma.  Seidokan Karate involves open-hand, weapons, jujitsu, and ground techniques.  We teach classical Okinawan combat martial arts with practical life-preservation principles and applications to today's world, expanding these same principles to tactical weapons of today, such as the knife, flashlight, kubaton (key-chain), and mace.  Our lessons are taught classically, where our applications are taught with the reality of today's environment.

Family Class

Family class is open to children and parents. Students will work coordination drills and learn how to punch, kick, block, handle wooden weapons, and perform takedowns. Skills learned here will relate to self-defense, not fighting, which are two different things.  We do not participate in tournaments.  All certificates come from Okinawa, Japan.

Daniel Peterson, Godan (5th degree black belt) in Ryukoku Seidokan Karate and Kobudo Federation (RSKKR),  started  training Aikijujitsu and Karate-jutsu under Sensei Dennis Sukut in 2000.   He later started studying from Sensei Donald Hayhurst, Hachidan (8th degree black belt) author of Okinawa Seidokan Tome Volume 1 History (Lulu, 2010), and many seniors in Seidokan, as well as other arts.  The benefits of this continually add to his insight and experience for the ever-growing development of coherent, principle-based teaching methods for both adults and children, applicable to today's society.

He has been teaching karate since 2010, and started Dallas Karate in 2013.
